- World Beer Market recovers +4.7% in 2021, following -6.7% fall in 2020
- Growth of +2.5% forecast for 2022: market to regain 2019 level
Beer market specialists Plato Logic are currently projecting a further year of recovery for the World Beer Market in 2022. Ian Pressnell, Director of Plato Logic, commented: “The projected market size of 1990mhl would be almost exactly the level achieved in 2019.”

The premium beer market grew strongly in 2021, to reach 382mhl. Commenting on the trend Ian Pressnell, Director of Plato Logic, added: “one in 5 beers consumed is now premium, compared with just one in 50 that is no-alcohol.”
However the on-trade channel, while recovering some share in 2021, remained almost 100mhl lower than in 2019.
