According to latest figures released by beer market specialists Plato Logic, the World Beer Market grew by +0.4% in 2017 (provisional). Ian Pressnell, Director of Plato Logic, commented: “The world’s 6 biggest beer markets*, accounting for 56% of global beer consumption, fell by a combined -0.7% in 2017. However, Africa grew by an estimated 4.5%.”
Plato Logic’s latest projections see a return to low growth of around +2.3% in 2018, with +0.5% forecast for Europe, +2.6% for the Americas, +2.9% for Asia/Pacific and +4.0% for the Africa/Middle East region.
Plato Logic have also announced an updated Top 10 World Brewers league table, based pro forma 2017 volumes (latest estimates).
